What is IMEI number?
IMEI stands for
International Mobile Equipment Identity, which is a unique identity for phones. Just as each Indian Citizen is provided with Unique Aadhar Number, or every vehicle is given unique number for identification.
Every cellular device is provided a SIM card which can be uniquely identified by this IMEI number. It is a 15 digit globally unique number. As dual sim phones consist of 2 SIM cards with them, they have 2 IMEI numbers.

Typing Code on any Phone
You can simply check the IMEI number of any phone just by Dialing number *#06#. It is the universal code, and you even need not to press Call button. Just typing in the number *#06# will instantly display the IMEI number of your phone.

- Incase your Android phone as flexibility of Removable battery, you can find IMEI number inside the phone, under the battery.
- Also, you can find IMEI/MEID number on your SIM tray, recently launched phones have their phone's IMEI number embedded on their SIM tray too. Just try to find 14/15 digit number.
If you own a Android Phone, follow this steps to know your IMEI number.
Step 1:- Go to Settings
Step 2:- Scroll down till you find Sub-Menu named 'About-Phone',
Step 3:- This is the data hub of your phone about information. Here you will get your IMEI number or numbers depending your phone as Single SIM or DUAL sim.
Step 4:- However, in case of DUAL sim, except the last single digit rest of the digits of your 15 digit IMEI number are same.
It is advisable to note it down, as you cannot use Copy option here.

Step 1:- Go to Settings, through your iPhone's/iPad's Home Screen.
Step 2:- Find Sub-Menu named 'General' and select it.
Step 3:- Again find Sub-Menu named 'About', this will display all information about your phone on Screen.
Step 4:- On the screen, you will get to know your required IMEI/MEID. Tap on it if you want to copy it or just note it down.
Note:- In case you are unable to turn on your phone.
- You can find IMEI number on SIM card tray on some of the iPhones, whereas for iPads of previous generations have their IMEI number on back towards the bottom.

This might be the simplest and best way to find IMEI number of your phone, follow this steps:
Step 1: Find out the Original Packing box of the phone of which you want to find the IMEI number.
Step 2: Now, try to find the Barcode Sticker on the box, which is generally on sideways or on the opening as a seal.
Step 3: Congrats! If you got the sticker i.e. Barcode Label, simply copy and note down the IMEI number from sticker.
